Olympics 2012: Vijay Kumar hits shot for Silver Medal
At London Olympics 2012 this is time for celebration for India as Indian man Vijay Kumar has got Silver Madel in Rapid Fire Pistol competition.He got 30 shoots at right place out of 40 first time.He finished his shoots just behind the Cuba’s Leuris Pupo who shot his way to the gold with a world record equalling score of 34.
Any way Vijay Kumar wrote a history for India by winning this Silver medal.It was a competition in which they are to target 40 shots out of them Vijay Kumar find target for 30 shots and this 26-year-old army subedar from Himachal Pradesh has become the hero for India in London Olympics 2012.
This is second Medal for India, Before this Gagan Narang at London Olympics got bronze for India. Narang, who won the 10m air rifle bronze to open India’s account here on July 30, could not even make the finals of the 50m rifle.He is the fourth Indian shooter to win a medal at the Olympics, before him Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (silver in 2004 Athens), Abhinav Bindra (gold in 2008 Beijing) and Narang has won the medals for India in Olympics.
Now Vijay Kumar became the second shooter to break the previous Olympic record of 583 by making total score of 585.And after the getting Silver medal Vijay Kumar said ”I was just trying to control myself and accordingly performed,”Kumar also credited his coach Pavel Smirnov for his success.
Any way this is Silver medal for India. Congratulation to Mr. Vijay Kumar.
