Pranab Mukherjee: Wins Presidential Poll and becomes 13th President of India

Pranab Mukharjee won presidential poll and now he has become 13th President of India.Finally UPA candidate Pranab Mukherjee won the Presidential election and now ready to occupy Rashtrapati Bhawan.According to officials, Pranab who has secured 5,58,194 vote-value in Presidential Election 2012 and he crossed half-way mark of 5,25,140 required after counting of votes in half the states was over.

pranab-mukherjee now the president of IndiaMaharashtra the end of the counting, the 15th of the 30 states, Sangma got 2,39,966 vote value.Pranab got the support of 527 out of the total 748 MPs, while PA Sangma, his rival polled 206 votes in his favour. And 15 votes were declared invalid.

There are a total of 776 voters in both the Houses of Parliament. Each MP has a vote value of 708.The Electoral College consists of 4,120 MLAs in the states.

In Karnataka where BJP runs a government, Pranab got the majority votes in the 224-member Assembly with 117 MLAs voted for him. Sangma got only 103 votes and three votes were invalid. One MLA did not vote. The value of votes polled by Pranab was 15327 while it was 13493 for Sangma.

Andhra Pradesh has a 294-member Assembly and Pranab got the support of 182 MLAs including Congress and YSR Congress, whereas Sangma got the backing of three. Five votes were invalid. Look upon vote value, Pranab got 26,936 and Sangma got 444. A total of 190 MLAs voted because TDP and TRS abstained. In Andhra Pradesh each MLA has a vote value of 148.

In Assam there is 126-member Assembly, Pranab got 110 votes while Sangma got 13, two votes were invalid while one did not vote. As per vote value, Pranab got 12,760 and Sangma got 1,508.

In Bihar as well, where the ruling party is JD(U) has also support  Pranab, out of the 240 votes polled in the 243 member Pranab got 146 Assembly, while Sangma got 90, mostly from BJP, which shares power with JD(U). Pranab vote value in the state was 25,258 and Sangma was 15,570. Three votes were invalid and one did not vote.

In Haryana there is 90-member Assembly, Pranab got 53 votes and Sangma 29. While eight were invalid. In terms of vote value, Pranab got 5,936 and Sangma got 3,248.
Gujarat Assembly has 182-member, Pranab got 59 votes and Sangma 123 votes where BJP has the majority. In terms of vote value, Pranab got 8,673 whreas Sangma got 18,081.

Sangma got majority of votes in BJP-ruled states of Chhattisgarh and Goa.
Chhattisgarh has 90-member assembly, 39 votes gone in favour of Pranab while Sangma got 50, one vote was invalid. In terms of vote value, Pranab got 5,031 and Sangma got 6,450.

Goa has 40-member assembly. Pranab got 9 votes and Sangma 31. In terms of vote value, Pranab got 180 and Sangma got 620..

Himachal Pradesh has 68-member assembly. Pranab got 23 votes while Sangma got victory with 44 votes, one vote was invalid. Pranab vote value was 1173 and 2244 for Sangma.

Jammu and Kashmir has 87 MLAs assembly, Pranab got 68 votes while Sangma with 15 votes. Two votes were declared invalid. Pranab vote value here goes 4896 while Sangma got 1080.

Jharkhand has 81-member assembly; Pranab got 60 votes while Sangma got 20. Pranab vote value is 10560 and Sangma’s 3520.

Kerala has 140 members Assembly, Pranab Mukherjee won all the 124 votes polled while one was invalid. Sangma drew a blank, vote value for Pranab in Kerala stands at 18848.

Madhya Pradesh has 230-member Assembly, Pranab got 73 votes and Sangma got 156. Four votes were invalid. In terms of the vote value, Pranab got 9563 and Sangma 20,436.

After all Pranab mukhrjee will be the 13th President of India.This time the polling percentage was less than expected with only 72 per cent of the total votes – valued at 11 lakh – polled.

Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav vote was declared invalid by the Election Commission because he violated the code of secrecy by revealing his vote. Mulayam Singh Yadav had first vote for Sangma and then he torn the ballot paper when he realised his mistake.

Pranab will swear the oath for the post of President by the Chief Justice of India on July 25 at 11.30 am.
