Euro Cup 2012 is on the way from 8th June 2012.UEFA (Union of European Football Association) EURO Cup is a football championship which happens after every four years.In this championship all the nations of Europe participate. This football championship is going on since 1960.Till now thirteen championships has been held and nine different teams have been won and the most successful team is Germany which clinch three titles in six final appearances. France and Spain are also multiple-time winners both are having two titles.
Italy, Czechoslovakia, Netherland, Denmark, Greece are other European champions and the inaugural winners Soviet Union (now Russia) with one title. The previous championship was co-hosted by Austria and Switzerland and Spain took it by beaten Germany 1-0. Now the current 2012 European championship is co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine from 8 June 2012 to 1 July 2012.
In 1927 Henri Delaunay, French Football administrator had suggest the Idea for European football championship but it was started three years after Delaunay’s death. The trophy awarded to the winner in the honor of Delaunay. The first championship initiated in 1960, France and there were only four teams out of 17 competing in the finals. Soviet Union had won the first competition beating Yugoslavia 2-1.
UEFA Euro Cup 2012 Teams:
The UEFA Euro 2012 tournament is currently being co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine.There are 16 teams which start to play on 8th June for Euro 2012.
There are four groups A,B,C, & D.
